Beyond
the Visions
of an Artist
In Art, there are a lot of beautiful creations with different stories and purposes. People use art as self-expression and a way for their voices to be heard. People underestimate art as a way of living and business. They do not know that they are surrounded by art in their day-to-day life. Their bed, their kitchen table, everything is well designed by function. People tell kids that they have no future in art but they are also the same people who watch movies, wear clothes, and admire the wonders of the world.
As you can tell, art has a variety of mediums. It stretches out from the basic 2D drawings to the creation of branded clothes, album covers, posters, movies, and many more. History about the beautiful progression of design and art creates the dynamic and options we have now. I interviewed two of my close friends. One is an aspiring VFX artist, and the other is an internet personality, who is well-known for her art. Both of them create art that says something about who they are as people. I asked my interviewees a series of questions regarding their choices in art.
CGI or VFX artists make photoreal, carefully produced symbolism. The job requires the consistent combination of these impacts into surprisingly realistic component movies, TV, and, progressively, on the web and reassures gaming. VFX specialists utilize the furthest down the line innovation to deliver PC-produced animals, groups, and trick pairs. There is likewise the developing region of advanced molecule impacts, which incorporates liquid and fire, just as item and lighting control. You need to cause the watcher to accept that what they are seeing is genuine. This could be a mythical serpent, a fantasy château, a downpour storm, a major wave, spaceships, superheroes, outsider urban areas, or whole planets.
Roihmic Leones is an ex-ICT representative that is entrusted with creating VFX outputs for events and other related things hosted by the school. But recently, he’s an independent VFX artist still trying to learn the ropes. But his page: Roynie has a decent portfolio of what he makes. There is growth in his art as every video and rendered 3d material is posted.

Roihmic Leones is a technical person who is a perfectionist by heart, yet knows what’s best for himself and his peers. He doesn’t have any connection with his 2D creations during senior high school. He always wanted to create something bigger, and an aspiration not usually found in people my age. I asked him what made him choose this medium of art and does he have any plans to branch out to other mediums such as 2D art or traditional art.
“I chose computer-generated images (CGI) as my preferred medium of art because my traditional art skills are awful. I don't have plans to branch out to other mediums because of my said skills in traditional art. “, he says.
People now especially who are close to him ask him for commissions, and it is a business he does today.
When asked what makes his medium so unique. He answered proudly, “this medium is unique and that it's very complex. You can create games, animations, images, or even print a 3D model you made with CG. You can also imitate what 2D art looks like in the form of digital and making adjustments in CG is easier than traditional. What I love about CG is that it allows filmmakers to create scenes that are impossible or impractical to make like magic and the likes”. He creates and dreams big. He sees past the picture and imagines something magnificent.

When asked what he can do to inspire people who are interested in becoming VFX or CGI artists. He said, “I want to encourage young artists to try CG by watching films or play video games with great CG and visual effects. With that, they will learn how to appreciate how good CG can be. There is a stigma that some people hate CG because it's "easier" but in fact, it's not. You still have to apply principles like lighting, color theory, and other principles in making art”.
Roihmic who was once part of MCL’s student council already motivates and inspires people to strive for the best. He corrects small things because he knows they can make a difference in the final output. He wants the best for him and his team, especially his work. He is an artist who has a long way to go but already left lessons for us to pick up.
The second interviewee is an internet personality known for her cute yet dark art style. She has 17.5K followers on Twitter as of the making of this article. She mainly focuses on 2D art and has a painted-like art style which gives both light and dark themes for her drawing. Her art says a lot about her personality as well. She’s very kind, and sweet but discreet on a lot of things, she tries to interact as much as possible with her followers and even listens to their feedback.
Her art has been commissioned both locally and internationally by clients. Through the years, the value of her art skyrocketed as she gets proper attention from the art community on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram. Though she preferably chooses Twitter over anything else. Her prices range from $60 (P2,800) for a bust-up commission to $100 (P4,700) for a full-body commission. Though these prices are negotiable, they do not go any lower unless iy is a special order.

When asked what made her settle for this medium and if she plans on branching out, she said, “I chose digital art because it was the most accessible to me. I started with nothing but a mouse and MS Paint and gradually learned from there! Since not many kids drew digitally, I was approached by my computer teacher saying he wanted to train me for digital drawing contests and I guess that was the reason I stuck to digital art because I had a mentor helping me and I was put in several contests where I had the opportunity to improve. When I was in high school, I would often take on any project that involved any medium of digital art whether it be graphic design, animation, video editing, and even 3D art so I could say I’ve tried it all. I was only doing that so I could prove to my parents that there was a reward in doing digital art and that was high grades. So, I pushed myself into doing all forms of digital art for my parents’ approval until I burned out. I only recently told myself I would focus on digital illustrations because I realized I can’t force myself to be good at all of them. So, I would say I have knowledge about the other branches of digital art but I will no longer be actively seeking to improve in them because I would rather improve on one area and master it instead of being the jack of all trades.”
Her portfolio can attest that she does not move out from her 2D art, and she improve immensely in the process. She profits from the style she has now. She is where she is now because her dedication to the medium helped her build her reputation in the community.

Though 2D is common, she said, “I would have to say it’s the accessibility of it along with the broad range of techniques you’re able to do with just a program, a laptop, and a tablet. I’ve seen more and more people get into digital art every day because of how easy it is to be introduced to it with most of them using only their phones and their fingers. Compared to traditional art it takes less effort to obtain materials to begin. Some would say that it’s even cheaper to opt for digital art than traditional art.”

“Most of the time people are too pressured to already have a plan before they even begin something. With digital art this could manifest in the pressure of developing an art style, proving to your parents that it’s not a waste of time (if you’d want to take it up as your college course), or even wanting to earn money from commissions even though you’ve just started. Luckily, in this day and age, we all can create a platform where we can share our interests and progress. I would suggest for young artists to just enjoy the process. Don’t worry about thinking how every drawing would turn out, if it would gain numbers or not, or if you’d like the outcome or not. If you want to improve you have to realize that not every piece should be a polished one. It’s perfectly fine to draw for the sake of, well, drawing. It’s all about enjoying why you’re doing it in the first place. Once you start doing that you’d be surprised when you realize that learning comes swiftly along with it,” she said.
Because of the reputation that she built, and the following that she has earned through her hard work, she is an exemplary example of how someone can go far even at a young age in earning money through her art. As she continues her craft, may she unceasingly give inspiration to young artists in the future.
